Milkshake Base

Method

Prep & Garnish

1

Prepare glasses

Chill two tall milkshake glasses in the freezer for 5–10 minutes. If using strawberry syrup, dip the rim of each glass into a shallow dish of syrup and then into a few crushed cereal pieces to coat the rim lightly.

2

Make cereal garnish

Reserve 1 tablespoon whole cereal pieces for topping each shake. Finely crush an additional 1 tablespoon cereal (place in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin) to use for rim or sprinkle.

Strawberry Puree (if not pre-made)

3

If you don't have ready strawberry puree: place 1 cup hulled strawberries (fresh or thawed frozen) and 1 tablespoon sugar (optional) in a blender or food processor and blitz until smooth. Strain through a fine sieve to remove seeds for a silkier texture. Chill while preparing the rest.

Make the Milkshake

4

In a blender add 3 cups vanilla ice cream, 1 cup whole milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Start blending on low to combine, then increase speed until smooth.

5

Add 1 cup strawberry puree and 3 tablespoons raspberry liqueur to the blender. Pulse briefly until evenly incorporated but avoid overblending to preserve some body. Taste and adjust: for a boozier flavor add up to 1 tablespoon more liqueur; for a thicker shake add another 1/2 cup ice cream.

6

If you want crunchy cereal pieces dispersed through the shake, add 1 tablespoon fruit cereal and pulse 2–3 short times to just incorporate bits. For completely smooth shake, skip this step.

Assemble & Serve

7

Divide the shake evenly between the two chilled glasses.

8

Top each shake with a generous dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of the reserved crushed cereal, and the reserved whole cereal pieces. Garnish with 3 fresh raspberries per glass if desired.

9

Serve immediately with a wide straw and a long spoon.
