Shrimp Preparation

Method

Shrimp Preparation

1

Cooking the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 1 litre of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt and the juice of 1 lemon. Once boiling, add the peeled and deveined shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them.

2

Cooling the Shrimp

Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.

Cocktail Sauce

3

Mixing the Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of hot sauce, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Stir well until fully mixed. Taste and add salt to your preference.

Assembly

4

Serving the Cocktail

In serving glasses or bowls, layer the cooked shrimp, diced avocado, and chopped cilantro. Drizzle the prepared cocktail sauce over the top. Garnish with lemon wedges on the side.
