Ladyfingers

Mascarpone Mixture

Method

Prepare Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Coffee

Brew 1 cup of espresso or strong coffee and let it cool. If desired, mix in 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur for added flavor.

Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 2

    Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar

In a bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 3

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in 16 ounces of mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

  3. 4

    Whip Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  4. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the cream.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Soak Ladyfingers

Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not overly soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

In a 9x9-inch dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by half of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  3. 8

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight to allow flavors to meld.

Serve

  1. 9

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
