Pizza Dough and Toppings

Method

Preparation

1

Make the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it stand for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until it forms a dough.

2

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

3

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

4

Shape the Pizza

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a round shape on a floured surface. Transfer it to a baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a stone.

5

Add Toppings

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and distribute them over the sauce. Season with black pepper.

6

Bake the Pizza

Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

7

Garnish and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and top with fresh basil leaves. Slice and serve hot.
