Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you mix the cocktail; discard ice water before serving.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

Fill a cocktail shaker with the measured ice (about 1 cup). Add 2 oz True Theory Vodka, 2 oz pineapple juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup to the shaker.

  3. 3

    Shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the drink to proper balance.

  4. 4

    Strain

Discard the ice from the chilled glass (if used). Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini or coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and, if available, a fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards and pulp.

  5. 5

    Garnish & serve

Garnish the rim of the glass with the pineapple wedge and, optionally, float a lime wheel on the surface. Serve immediately.
