Piña Colada Mix (non-alcoholic)
Juice Mix
Garnish & Service
Method
Piña Colada Mix (non-alcoholic)
Combine base
In a blender or large mixing jar, combine 1.25 cups pineapple juice, 0.5 cup coconut cream, 0.25 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half), and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add 1 teaspoon simple syrup. This yields a rich, creamy non-alcoholic piña colada base.
Add ice and blend
Add about 1 cup crushed ice to the blender. Blend on high for 15–30 seconds until smooth and slightly frothy. The mixture should be cold, creamy, and pourable but not watery. If too thick, add up to 2 tablespoons pineapple juice; if too thin, add a few more ice cubes and pulse.
Juice Mix
Mix juices
In a separate pitcher, combine 1 cup apple juice, 1 cup orange juice, and 0.5 cup additional pineapple juice. Stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust balance: if the blend is too sweet, add up to 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice; if too tart, add up to 1 teaspoon simple syrup.
Chill
Keep the juice mix chilled in the refrigerator until ready to serve. This blend provides a bright, fruity contrast to the creamy piña colada base and will be used either mixed with the piña base or served alongside depending on service style.
Assembly & Garnish
Combine for a mixed non-alcoholic pitcher (non-refillable)
For a single mixed serving (about 16–18 oz): In a large glass or short pitcher, pour all of the blended piña colada base into the chilled juice mix and stir gently to integrate. Ratio guideline: use approximately 1 part piña colada base to 1 part juice mix for a balanced, tropical drink. For a lighter, fruitier drink, increase juice mix up to 1.5 parts.
Service option - layered
If you prefer a layered presentation, pour the chilled juice mix into the glass first, then carefully float the piña colada base on top by pouring over the back of a spoon. This creates a two-tone visual: fruity underlayer and creamy top.
Garnish
Garnish each serving with 1 pineapple wedge, 1 orange wheel, and 1 maraschino cherry on a cocktail pick. Add a mint sprig if desired. Serve with a straw and a short stirring spoon so the guest can re-mix before drinking.
Storage and non-refillable note
This beverage is intended single-serving/non-refillable. Keep the blended piña base refrigerated and use within 24 hours for best texture (the coconut cream can separate over time). The juice mix can be stored up to 48 hours refrigerated. Re-blend the piña base briefly if separation occurs before serving.
