Preparation

1

Prepping the Ingredients

Wash and chop the fresh methi leaves and set aside. If using frozen peas, thaw them in warm water. Finely chop the onion and puree the tomato.

Cooking

2

Sautéing the Base

In a large pan, heat the butter or ghee over medium heat. Once melted, add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

3

Adding Aromatics

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.

4

Incorporating Spices

Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for about a minute.

5

Tomato Purée

Add the pureed tomato and cook until the oil starts to separate from the mixture, about 5-7 minutes.

6

Adding Peas and Methi

Stir in the green peas and fresh methi leaves. Cook for another 5 minutes until the peas are tender.

7

Finishing the Curry

Lower the heat and add the heavy cream. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Finally, sprinkle garam masala on top and mix.

Serving

8

Garnishing

Chop fresh coriander leaves and sprinkle them on top before serving.

9

Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
