Bloody Mary Cocktail

Method

Bloody Mary Cocktail

1

If rimming the glass, moisten the lip with the lemon wedge and dip into coarse salt. Fill a tall pint or Collins glass with ice and set aside.

2

In a cocktail shaker (or mixing glass) add ice, 2 oz Ugly Dog Bacon Vodka, 4 oz house-made Bloody Mary mix, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 3 dashes hot sauce, 0.5 tsp prepared horseradish, a pinch of celery salt and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper.

3

Stir the mixture briskly for 15–20 seconds to chill and slightly dilute. Do not shake vigorously (to preserve texture and garnish).

4

Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Taste and adjust hot sauce, salt, or horseradish to your preference.

Garnish - Cheeseburger Slider

5

Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Lightly butter the cut sides of the mini slider bun.

6

Cook the mini beef patty 60–90 seconds per side (or until cooked through for small patties). During the last 15–20 seconds of cooking, place the American cheese on the patty to melt.

7

Toast the buttered bun cut-side down until golden (10–20 seconds). Assemble the slider with mustard and ketchup on the bottom bun, add the cheesy patty, a slice of dill pickle, then top bun. Secure with the cocktail skewer so it can be perched on the glass.

Garnish - Tavern Wing

8

Pat the wing dry and season with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper. Toss with 1 tsp neutral oil to coat.

9

Either shallow-fry in 325°F oil until golden and cooked through (about 6–8 minutes depending on size), or roast in a 425°F oven on a sheet pan for 25–30 minutes turning once until skin is crisp and internal temperature reaches 165°F.

10

Toss the cooked wing in 1 tsp buffalo sauce (or your preferred glaze) to coat lightly. Let cool slightly and then skewer or thread onto the same pick as the slider or place beside the glass as desired.

Garnish - Pickled Gherkin & Assembly

11

Skewer the pickled gherkin and, if using, the cooled tavern wing and slider onto a long cocktail pick. Balance the pick across the rim of the glass, or set the garnishes on a small plate to accompany the cocktail.

12

Add a celery stalk into the drink if desired and tuck a lemon wedge on the rim. Serve immediately while the garnishes are warm and the cocktail is cold.
