Method
Preparing Sticky Rice
- 1
Rinse and Soak the Rice
Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- 2
Steam the Rice
Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth. Steam the rice for about 30-40 minutes until tender.
Making Coconut Sauce
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Do not bring to a boil.
- 4
Mix with Sticky Rice
Once the sticky rice is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl. Pour about 2/3 of the coconut sauce over the rice and mix well. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Preparing Mango
- 5
Slice the Mango
Peel the ripe mango and slice it into thin wedges or cubes.
Serving
