We are celebrating Lunar New Year with a family styled dinner! The menu is inspired by the Far East with our True North flavours. The dinner will include soup sent as a first course, followed by the remaining dishes to share.

Prepare the Soup

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer. Add ginger and garlic, and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add Vegetables

Add shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and bok choy. Simmer for another 10 minutes until vegetables are tender.

Season the Soup

Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through.

Stir-Fry Vegetables

In the same skillet, add red bell pepper and broccoli. Stir-fry for 5 minutes until veggies are tender-crisp.

Combine and Serve

Slice the chicken and serve on a platter with stir-fried vegetables. Garnish with sesame seeds.

Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, combine jasmine rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is tender.

Fluff and Serve

Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and garnish with cilantro before serving.
