Biscuits

Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

3

Cut in Butter

Cut the unsalted butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4

Add Milk

Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

5

Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter or a glass.

6

Bake

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

7

Serve

Remove from the oven and brush the tops with additional melted butter. Serve warm with butter and orange marmalade.
