Combine ingredients
Add 2 oz bourbon, 1/2 oz allspice dram, 3/4 oz fresh lime juice, 1/4 oz simple syrup and 2 dashes Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker.

Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is well chilled and a good froth forms from the citrus.

Express the oils of a lime twist over the drink and drop the twist into the glass, or float a lime wheel on the surface. Optionally grate a small pinch of fresh nutmeg over the top for an aromatic finish.
