Yucca Fries Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

1

Prepare the Yucca

Peel the yucca root and cut it into fries-sized pieces, approximately 1/2 inch thick.

2

Boil the Yucca

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the yucca fries and cook for about 15-20 minutes or until they are fork-tender. Drain and let them cool slightly.

3

Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

4

Fry the Yucca

Carefully add the boiled yucca fries to the hot oil in batches. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

5

Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt, paprika, and garlic powder. Toss gently to coat.

6

Serve

Drizzle with fresh lime juice and garnish with chopped cilantro if desired. Serve immediately.
