Method

Preparing the Shrimp

1

Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Squeeze the juice of the lemon into the water, then add the whole lemon and salt.

2

Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.

3

Ice Bath

Remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit for about 5 minutes.

4

Drain and Chill

Drain the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

5

Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 2 dashes of hot sauce.

6

Mix Well

Stir all the ingredients together until well combined. Adjust horseradish and hot sauce to taste.

7

Chill the Sauce

Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
