Fresh Fruit
Finishing & Serving
Method
Fresh Fruit
- 1
Prepare strawberries
Rinse strawberries under cold running water. Pat dry with paper towels. Hull (remove green tops) and slice large berries in halves or quarters so pieces are bite-sized. Place in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
- 3
Prepare grapes
Rinse seedless red grapes, remove from stems, and pat dry. If grapes are large, halve them. Add to the mixing bowl.
- 4
Prepare pineapple
Peel and core the pineapple, then dice into 1-inch pieces. If using pre-cut pineapple, ensure pieces are roughly 1-inch. Add to the mixing bowl.
- 5
Prepare cantaloupe and honeydew
Cut cantaloupe and honeydew in half, scoop out seeds, peel, and cut into 1-inch cubes. Try to keep cubes uniform in size for an attractive platter. Add cantaloupe and honeydew to the mixing bowl.
Finishing & Serving

Toss with lime and optional honey
Pour the 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice over the combined fruit in the mixing bowl. If using, warm the 1 teaspoon of honey slightly (5–10 seconds in microwave) to thin, then drizzle over fruit. Gently toss all fruit with two large spoons to coat evenly — be gentle to avoid crushing delicate berries. The lime brightens flavors and helps prevent browning on melon and pineapple.

Taste and adjust
Taste a sample and add a small pinch of salt or an additional 1/2 teaspoon honey if you prefer sweeter. Toss gently again if you add anything.
- 8
Arrange on platter
Choose a large shallow platter or wooden board. Using a slotted spoon or tongs, arrange fruit in groups by type for color contrast (for example: a line or clusters of strawberries, then pineapple, then cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, raspberries, and blueberries). Leave some negative space for visual appeal. Alternatively, fill a shallow bowl or bowl line with fruit mixture for a tossed presentation.
- 9
Garnish and serve
Tuck fresh mint leaves around the platter for color and aroma. If desired, thread mixed fruit pieces onto toothpicks or small skewers for individual servings and place them in a small cup at the side of the platter. Serve immediately, or cover loosely and refrigerate up to 2 hours. Do not store longer than 6 hours to preserve berry texture and melon freshness.
