Produce

Method

Prepare Produce

1

Wash and peel

Thoroughly wash carrots, apple, lemon, ginger, and turmeric under running water. Peel carrots if desired; peel ginger and turmeric with the edge of a spoon or a vegetable peeler to remove skins.

2

Chop

Roughly chop the carrots into 1-inch pieces so they blend smoothly. Quarter the cored apple. Cut the peeled lemon into large segments (remove seeds). Trim and roughly chop the ginger and turmeric so they are easy to process in the blender or juicer.

Make Juice (Blender Method)

3

Blend

Place the chopped carrots, apple quarters, ginger, turmeric, and lemon segments into a high-speed blender. Add 1 cup cold water or fresh apple juice to help the blades move. Secure the lid.

4

Start blending on low speed for 15–20 seconds to break up large pieces, then increase to high and blend for 45–60 seconds until very smooth and uniformly liquid. If mixture is too thick, add additional water, 2 tablespoons at a time, to reach desired consistency.

5

Strain (optional)

For a smoother, clearer juice, place a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag over a large bowl or pitcher. Pour the blended mixture through the sieve, using a spatula to press and extract as much liquid as possible. Discard or save the pulp for baking or adding to smoothies.

6

If you prefer a full-fiber beverage, skip the straining and serve the blended mixture as a smoothie-style drink.

Finish & Serve

7

Stir in 1 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup if you prefer added sweetness. Add a pinch of freshly ground black pepper to the juice to help increase absorption of curcumin from turmeric.

8

Taste and adjust: add more lemon for brightness, more apple for sweetness, or more water to lighten the texture. If desired, stir in ice cubes or serve over ice.

9

Pour into two glasses (see servings) and serve immediately for optimal freshness and nutrient content. Refrigerate any leftover juice in an airtight container and consume within 24–48 hours; shake well before serving.
