Kid's Cheese Pizza

Method

Kid's Cheese Pizza

1

Make quick dough

In a small bowl, stir warm water and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy. In a medium bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil and mix until a shaggy dough forms. Turn onto lightly floured surface and knead 2–3 minutes until smooth. Let rest 5 minutes covered with a towel.

2

Shape and top

Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll or press dough into a 6–7 inch round (about 1/4 inch thick). Transfer to a lightly oiled or parchment-lined small baking sheet. Spread pizza/marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly, then dust with dried oregano.

3

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven 8–10 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and let cool for 2 minutes before slicing into 4 kid-friendly slices.

Sides and Snack

4

While pizza bakes, arrange baby carrots and apple slices on the plate. Place ranch dressing in a small ramekin for dipping. If apple slices brown quickly, toss with a light squeeze of lemon juice (optional) to preserve color.

Dessert

5

Spoon vanilla yogurt into a small serving cup (if not already portioned). Drizzle honey over the top and sprinkle mini chocolate chips if using. Serve chilled.

Beverage

6

Pour apple juice or milk into a small cup and add ice cubes if desired. Serve with the meal.
