Method
Dough Preparation
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F) and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
Pizza Assembly
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.
Shape the Pizza Base
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into your desired shape (round or rectangular) and thickness.
Add Tomato Sauce
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza base, leaving a small border around the edges.
Add Burrata and Season
Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and distribute it evenly over the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bake the Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the hot pizza stone). Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy.
Finish with Basil and Olive Oil
Remove the pizza from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with olive oil before slicing and serving.
