Cocktail
1. Chill the glass
Place a chilled martini or coupe glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail. Set aside.
2. Combine ingredients
Fill a mixing glass or cocktail shaker with the ice. Add 2.5 oz Grey Goose vodka and 0.25 oz dry vermouth.
3. Stir
Stir the mixture for 20–30 seconds with a bar spoon until well chilled and slightly diluted (or shake for a slightly colder, more aerated martini if you prefer).
4. Strain
Discard the ice or water from the chilled serving glass. Double-strain the chilled vodka-vermouth mixture into the glass using a Hawthorne or fine strainer to catch any small ice shards.
Garnish
5. Cut a 1–2 inch strip of lemon peel. Hold it over the drink and give it a quick twist to express the oils over the surface, then rub the peel around the rim and drop it into the martini as a garnish.
