Define offer
Decide that the voucher grants 20% off a single 500 ml bottled water purchase. Set the expiration to 30 days from issue and limit to one use per customer.

Create a unique voucher code for each voucher (alphanumeric). Ensure codes are tracked in your redemption system to prevent reuse beyond the single-use limit.

Draft clear T&Cs stating: valid only on 500 ml bottled water, one voucher per customer, not combinable with other offers, valid for 30 days from issue, subject to stock availability. Include redemption instructions (present voucher code at checkout or enter code online).

Deliver voucher
Use your chosen channel to send the voucher to recipients. For email: attach the PDF, include the voucher code in the body, and a clear CTA (Redeem Now). For SMS: send a short message with the code, discount, and expiration link. For in-person: print the voucher and hand it to customers.

Track redemptions
Monitor your redemption system for used codes. When a customer redeems, mark the code as used so it cannot be redeemed again. Record date of redemption to monitor offer performance.

Apply discount at point of sale
When the voucher is presented, verify the code and expiration. Confirm the item is a 500 ml bottled water. Apply 20% discount to that item at checkout and mark the voucher code as redeemed in the system.

Handle exceptions
If the voucher is expired, already used, or applied to an ineligible item, politely inform the customer and explain the T&Cs. If a system error prevents redemption, record the incident and offer a one-time manual override if appropriate.
