Smoothie Base

Method

Smoothie Base

1

Prepare fruit

If using fresh fruit, peel and pit peach(s) and cut into slices, core and chop pineapple into chunks, and peel banana. If using frozen fruit, no prep is needed; measure out the specified amounts.

2

Layer into blender

Add the banana, pineapple chunks, and peach slices into the blender jar first. This helps the thicker fruit blend more smoothly.

3

Add liquids and yogurt

Pour in 1 cup fresh orange juice and add 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt. The yogurt gives creaminess and a slight tang; for dairy-free option substitute coconut yogurt.

4

Sweeten and chill

Add 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup and 3 ice cubes (adjust ice amount to desired chill/thickness). If you prefer brighter acidity, add 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice here.

5

Blend

Secure the lid and blend on high for 45–90 seconds, or until completely smooth and no large fruit pieces remain. Stop and scrape down the sides once, then blend again to ensure even texture.

6

Adjust consistency & taste

If the smoothie is too thick, add up to 1/4 cup more orange juice (60 ml) and pulse to combine. If it needs more sweetness, add up to 1 teaspoon more honey and blend briefly.

Optional Brighteners & Garnish

7

Finish with zest & coconut

Taste the blended smoothie and stir in the grated lime or orange zest if desired. Pour into glasses and sprinkle unsweetened coconut flakes over the top or rim the glass with coconut for a tropical touch.

8

Garnish and serve

Garnish each glass with a small mint sprig. Serve immediately while cold and frothy.
