Smoothie Base
Prep the kale and fruit
Wash the kale leaves thoroughly and strip the leaves from the stems. Peel the banana and break into chunks if not pre-frozen.
Add honey or maple syrup, fresh lime juice, grated ginger, ground chia seeds and the ice cubes on top.
Secure the blender lid and blend on high for 45–90 seconds, pausing and scraping down the sides once if needed, until the mixture is completely smooth and no large bits of kale remain. If the smoothie is too thick, add up to 1/2 cup (120 ml) more almond milk and blend again to reach desired consistency.
Taste and adjust: if more sweetness is needed, add up to 1 additional teaspoon honey/maple and blend briefly; if you want more tang, add an extra 1/2 teaspoon lime juice.
Pour the smoothie into two tall glasses (or one large).
Garnish (optional)
Top each serving with a few whole raspberries, a sprinkle of dried cranberry pieces and a couple of fresh mint leaves. Serve immediately with a straw.
