Wash the fiddlehead ferns thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Set them aside.

Prepare the Fiddlehead Ferns

In a large pot, bring 5 liters of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the malt extract and stir until fully dissolved.

Boil the Wort

Add the hops to the boiling wort and let it boil for 60 minutes. Add the fiddlehead ferns during the last 10 minutes of the boil.

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or by placing the pot in an ice bath until it reaches room temperature.

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Add the yeast and seal with an airlock. Allow it to ferment in a cool, dark place for 1-2 weeks.

After fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer using sanitized bottles and caps.

Bottling

Let the bottled beer carbonate at room temperature for another 1-2 weeks before refrigerating.
