Grilled bread, whole grain mustard, greens
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern and stud it with whole cloves.
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, honey, apple cider vinegar, black peppercorns, and water. Stir until well mixed.
Place the ham in a roasting pan and pour the braising liquid over it. Cover tightly with foil and bake for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the ham to caramelize. Baste with the juices every 10 minutes.
While the ham is resting, grill the bread slices until golden brown.
Slice the braised ham and serve it on a plate with grilled bread, a dollop of whole grain mustard, and a side of mixed greens.
