Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Muddle
In a cocktail shaker, add the 3 thin cucumber slices and 6 mint leaves. Add the 0.5 oz simple syrup and 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice. Gently muddle (press and twist) 6–8 times — enough to release cucumber juice and mint aroma but not pulverize the mint into bits.
Build and shake
Add 2 oz Citadelle gin, 0.5 oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur, and a handful of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker. Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.
Strain
Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled Collins glass or large coupe over fresh ice using a Hawthorne strainer and fine mesh strainer to remove bits of cucumber and mint.
Top and finish
Top with 1.5 oz club soda (adjust to taste) and give the drink a gentle stir twice to combine without losing too much effervescence.
