Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a highball or Collins glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to make sure the finished drink stays cold.

2

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.

3

Pour 2 oz Bombay Sapphire gin, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup into the shaker.

4

Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is well chilled (this dilutes and integrates the ingredients).

5

Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass and fill the glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice.

6

Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice using a Hawthorne or julep strainer to keep out shards.

7

If you prefer a longer, lighter drink, gently top with 1 oz club soda and stir once lightly with a bar spoon to combine (do not over-stir).

Garnish & Serve

8

Garnish with a lime wheel or lime twist perched on the rim. Optionally tuck a small mint sprig between the lime and rim and give the mint a gentle clap between your palms to release aroma before placing it.

9

Serve immediately with a straw or without, and provide a small stirrer if soda was added. Enjoy responsibly.
