Chill glass
Place a rocks glass or coupe in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.
Measure 2 oz Absolut Elyx into a cocktail shaker.
If you prefer a slightly longer drink, add 1 oz cold water or chilled club soda to the shaker (omit for a neat spirit-forward serve).
Citrus & Sweetener
Add 0.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice to the shaker. Use fresh lime; do not substitute bottled for best flavor.
Add 0.25 oz simple syrup to balance the citrus. Adjust to taste if you prefer sweeter or drier.
Add ice to the shaker (enough to fill roughly two-thirds).
Vigorously shake for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and the exterior becomes frosty. If you're using club soda, stir gently instead of shaking after adding soda to preserve carbonation.
Garnish
Discard ice/water from the chilled glass if you used it to chill.
Strain the cocktail into the chilled rocks glass over fresh large ice cubes (or serve neat in the chilled glass without ice if preferred). Use a fine strainer if you want a silkier texture.
Garnish with a lime wheel or a lime twist expressed over the drink to release oils, then drop it in or rest it on the rim.
Serve immediately.
