Ribs and BBQ Sauce
Method
Cooking Instructions
Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Rinse and pat dry.
Create Dry Rub
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
Apply Dry Rub
Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Let sit for at least 30 minutes, or preferably refrigerate overnight.
Prepare BBQ Sauce
In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and liquid smoke. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for 15 minutes, then remove from heat.
Slow Cook the Ribs
Place the ribs in a slow cooker. Pour half of the BBQ sauce over the ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, until the ribs are tender.
