Cocktail

Method

Build & Shake

1

Prepare

If using egg white, separate one egg and reserve the white. Chill a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer or fill with ice to chill.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker add 2 oz bourbon, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz fresh orange juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, 0.25 tsp Luxardo bitters (or a small barspoon of Luxardo cherry syrup), 2 dashes orange bitters, and the egg white (if using).

3

Dry shake

If using egg white, dry shake (no ice) vigorously for 10–15 seconds to emulsify and create foam.

4

Wet shake

Add ice to the shaker and shake hard for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and well diluted.

Strain & Serve

5

If serving up: double-strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer into the chilled coupe to remove ice shards and ensure a silky texture. If serving on the rocks (Old Fashioned style): fill a rocks glass with one large ice cube and double-strain the cocktail over the ice.

6

Garnish with an expressed orange twist (pinch the peel over the drink to release oils, then rub the rim and drop it in) and a Luxardo cherry on a pick. Optionally add one tiny additional drop of Luxardo syrup on the top of the foam for aroma and an accent.

7

Serve immediately and enjoy.
