Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Fit Turkey Wrap

Start by crushing the Pale Malt and Carapils Malt using a grain mill. Ensure that the grains are finely crushed but not turned into powder.

Malt Preparation

Bring 20 liters of filtered water to a boil in a large kettle. Maintain a steady boil for the entire brewing process.

Boil Preparation

Add the crushed malts to the boiling water and stir well. Maintain the temperature around 65-68°C (149-154°F) for 60 minutes. This process will convert the starches in the malt to fermentable sugars.

Mashing In

After mashing, sparge the grains with hot water to extract as much sugar as possible. Collect the wort in a kettle.

Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil again. Once boiling, add the Saaz hops and boil for 60 minutes. After 45 minutes, add the Hallertau hops to the kettle.

Boiling the Wort

Once the boiling is complete, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath.

Cooling the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel and pitch the lager yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock.

Pitching the Yeast

Allow the beer to ferment at cooler temperatures (around 10-12°C or 50-54°F) for about 2-3 weeks. Monitor the fermentation process.

Fermentation Process

Once fermentation is complete, siphon the beer into sanitized bottles and cap them. You may add priming sugar to carbonate the beer.

Bottling the Beer

Let the bottles condition at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks before refrigerating.
