Dumpling Filling

Method

Preparing Gyoza

1

Make the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2

Prepare the Dumpling Wrappers

Take a gyoza wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold it in half, and pinch the edges to seal. You can create pleats along the edge for a decorative touch.

3

Cook the Gyoza

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil. Arrange the gyoza in the skillet and fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Add about 1/4 cup of water to the skillet, cover, and steam for about 5 minutes.

4

Serve

Once the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through, remove the lid and allow them to fry for an additional 1-2 minutes for a crispier bottom. Serve hot with hot mustard on the side.
