Citrus Cocktail Base

Sparkle & Finish

Garnish & Package Extras

Method

Citrus Cocktail Base

1

Build individual cocktails

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 1 cup). Add 2 oz vodka, 1/3 oz orange liqueur, 1/3 oz simple syrup, 1 oz fresh orange juice, and 1/3 oz fresh lemon juice to the shaker.

2

Dry shake (without ice) 5 seconds if you prefer a slightly frothy texture from citrus, then add ice and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is chilled to the touch.

3

Strain the mixture into a chilled Collins or highball glass filled with fresh ice (about 3/4 cup).

Sweetener & Syrups

4

Taste the strained cocktail and, if you prefer a sweeter profile, add 1/4 oz agave or an extra 1/4 oz simple syrup into the shaker before the final shake and re-strain.

Sparkle & Finish

5

Top each glass with 1/2 cup (about 4 oz) club soda to add effervescence. Add 1–2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the top of each finished cocktail and gently stir once to combine without losing carbonation.

Garnish & Package Extras

6

Garnish with an orange wheel on the rim and a lemon twist on the surface. Clap a mint sprig between your hands to release aroma and place it on top if using.

7

If assembling as a packaged cocktail for delivery or an event, include separate small ice packs and a small bottle or canister of chilled club soda so recipients add the sparkling element just before drinking.

Batching for Package (makes ~8 servings)

8

In a clean, large pitcher or sanitized 1 L bottle, combine 24 oz vodka, 4 oz orange liqueur, 8 oz fresh orange juice, 4 oz fresh lemon juice, and 2 oz simple syrup. Stir gently to combine. Do not add club soda to the batch if you plan to package—keep the carbonation separate.

9

Chill the batch thoroughly (4 °C / 40 °F) for at least 1–2 hours before packing. Fill individual 8–12 oz sanitized bottles with ~6 oz of the cocktail base per bottle, leaving headspace for soda if desired. Seal and keep refrigerated.

10

Include instructions for the recipient: chill, pour over ice, top with 4 oz chilled club soda, add 1–2 dashes bitters, garnish with orange wheel and lemon twist, and enjoy.
