Peach Bourbon Tea (serves 1)
Peach Simple Syrup (makes ~6 oz)
Old Fashioned — JOEY Maker's Mark Peach Reserve (serves 1)
Method
Peach Simple Syrup
Combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and 1 cup chopped peaches in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring until sugar dissolves. Lower heat and simmer 6–8 minutes to extract peach flavor (do not boil vigorously).
Remove from heat and let steep 15–20 minutes to deepen flavor. Stir in 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice.
Strain syrup through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on solids to extract liquid. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate in a sealed container. Yields about 6 ounces.
Peach Bourbon Tea
Fill a Collins glass or highball with ice to chill.
Add 2 oz Maker's Mark Peach Reserve, 3 oz cooled strong black tea, 0.75 oz peach simple syrup, and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice into a mixing glass or shaker with ice.
Stir or shake briefly (5–8 seconds) to chill and slightly dilute, then strain into the prepared Collins glass over fresh ice.
Top with 1 oz club soda (or lightly carbonated water) and give a gentle stir to combine.
Garnish with a fresh peach slice and optional mint sprig. Serve with a straw.
Old Fashioned — JOEY Maker's Mark Peach Reserve
Place a rocks glass on the bar and add 0.5 oz peach simple syrup and 2 dashes Angostura bitters.
Add 2 oz Maker's Mark Peach Reserve to the glass.
Add one large ice cube and gently stir 20–30 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the cocktail.
Express the oils of an orange peel over the drink by holding the peel skin-side down and giving it a firm squeeze; run the peel around the rim and drop it in as garnish.
Optional: garnish with a Luxardo or brandied cherry alongside the orange peel.
