Brewing Instructions
1. Prepare the Wort
In a large pot, bring 15 liters of water to a boil. Once boiling, add 2 kilograms of malted barley and let it steep for about 60 minutes, maintaining a temperature of around 65-70°C (149-158°F).
2. Add Hops
After steeping, remove the barley and bring the wort back to a boil. Add 100 grams of hops and boil for another 60 minutes. You can add hops at intervals for different flavor profiles.
3. Cool the Wort
Once boiling is complete, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches around 20°C (68°F).
4. Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel and add 11 grams of yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let it ferment in a dark, cool place for about 1-2 weeks.
5. Bottling
After fermentation is complete, dissolve 200 grams of priming sugar in a small amount of water and add it to the beer before bottling. Bottle the beer and cap tightly.
6. Conditioning
Let the bottles condition for at least 2 weeks at room temperature before chilling and enjoying your homemade beer.
