In a large kettle, combine the pale malt, corn flakes, and caramel malt. Add 10 liters of filtered water and heat to 150°F (65°C). Maintain this temperature for 60 minutes.

Prepare the Mash

After mashing, drain the liquid (wort) from the grains into another kettle. Rinse the grains with 2 liters of hot water to extract more sugars.

Lautering

Bring the wort to a boil and add the Hallertau hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding the Saaz hops in the last 15 minutes of the boil.

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller until it reaches 68°F (20°C).

Cool the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel and pitch the lager yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock.

Pitch the Yeast

Allow the beer to ferment at a temperature of around 50°F (10°C) for 2 weeks.

Fermentation Period

After fermentation, transfer the beer to another vessel for carbonation, add priming sugar, and let it condition for another week.
