Prepare the Glass
Begin by chilling a rocks glass. Fill it with ice water and set it aside while you prepare the drink.
Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of Hennessy Paradis Cognac, 0.5 oz of simple syrup, 0.5 oz of fresh lemon juice, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
Shake the Mixture
Add 6 ice cubes to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill the mixture and mix the ingredients well.
Strain into Glass
Remove the ice water from the chilled rocks glass and strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass over fresh ice, if desired.
