Crab Cakes

Lemon-Basil Aïoli

Method

Crab Cakes Preparation

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, green onions, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Gently fold the ingredients together until well combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

2

Form the Cakes

Shape the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Chill

Cover the patties with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

4

Cook the Crab Cakes

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the crab cakes in batches and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Lemon-Basil Aïoli Preparation

5

Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, chopped basil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until smooth and well combined.

6

Serve

Serve the crab cakes warm with a generous dollop of lemon-basil aïoli on the side.
