Method
Serving Fountain Soda / Soft Beverage
Prepare cup
Select a clean serving cup. If offering free refills, use a sturdy reusable or disposable cup sized 12–20 oz depending on venue policy.
Add ice
Fill cup with ice to about 2/3 full (approximately 1 cup ice for a 12–16 oz cup). Adjust ice amount based on guest preference.
Dispense beverage
Place the cup under the selected fountain nozzle. Pull the lever for the chosen beverage (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Starry, Ginger Ale, Dr. Pepper, Lemonade, or Lipton Unsweetened Iced Tea). Tilt the cup slightly and fill until the beverage level reaches about 1/2 inch below the rim to prevent overflow. For carbonated sodas, dispense more slowly to reduce foaming. For lemonade or iced tea, pour steadily.
Sweeten or flavor (optional)
If serving Lipton Unsweetened Iced Tea and the guest prefers sweetened tea, stir in simple syrup (about 1 tsp) to taste. For sodas, add a small amount (1 tsp) of flavor syrup such as cherry or vanilla if requested; stir gently to combine.
Refills policy
For free refills, retain the same cup if local policy allows; otherwise provide a fresh cup. When refilling carbonated beverages, refill slowly to minimize foam and accidental overflow. For iced drinks, top off with additional beverage and add more ice if needed.
