Ingredients for Ethereal IPA
Brewing Instructions
1. Mashing
In a large brew kettle, heat 5 gallons of water to 165°F. Add the pale malt and caramel malt, stirring well. Maintain the temperature at around 150°F for 60 minutes, allowing the sugars to extract.
2. Boiling
After mashing, remove the grains and bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add the Citra hops. After 30 minutes, add the Simcoe hops. After another 15 minutes, add the Amarillo hops. Boil for an additional 15 minutes.
3. Cooling
After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 70°F.
4. Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and pitch the yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let ferment at room temperature for 1 to 2 weeks.
5. Bottling
Once fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of boiling water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer, cap them, and let them condition for another 1 to 2 weeks.
6. Enjoy
