Preparation
Muddle the Ginger and Basil
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh ginger (finely grated) and fresh basil leaves. Muddle them together gently to release the oils and flavors.
Mix the Liquids
Add the gin, pineapple juice, simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice to the cocktail shaker with the muddled ginger and basil.
Shake the Mixture
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
Serving
Strain and Pour
Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with ice.
Add Soda Water
Top the glass with soda water to add fizz and stir gently to combine.
Garnish
Garnish with a lemon wedge and a sprig of basil.
