Cocktail Base

Method

Prep Glass

1

Chill glass

Place a martini glass (or coupe) in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Decorate rim

Drizzle chocolate syrup in thin lines inside the chilled glass or spread a thin ring of syrup around the rim. If you prefer, dip the rim into a shallow plate of chocolate syrup and then into grated chocolate to coat the edge.

Shake & Strain

3

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 6 ice cubes).

4

Add Stoli Vanilla Vodka (2 oz), Frangelico (3/4 oz), chocolate liqueur (3/4 oz), and heavy cream (1 oz) to the shaker.

5

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty and the cream is well emulsified with the liqueurs.

6

Remove the martini glass from the freezer. Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne strainer and, if available, a fine mesh strainer to catch ice shards and any coagulated cream.

Garnish & Serve

7

Carefully float or sprinkle the grated dark chocolate or chocolate shavings over the surface of the cocktail for aroma and visual appeal.

8

Serve immediately with a small cocktail napkin. Optionally, add a thin curl of chocolate or a whole toasted hazelnut on the rim for an elegant finish.
