Method
Preparation
Prepare olives
Thread 3 pitted green olives onto a cocktail pick. Set aside in the refrigerator or on a small plate so they stay cold.
Mixing
Measure and combine
Add 2.5 oz Stoli Elite vodka and 0.5 oz dry vermouth to a cocktail shaker. If you prefer a slightly dirty martini, add 0.25 oz olive brine.
Add ice
Fill the shaker with enough ice to chill thoroughly (about 1 cup).
Shake frosty
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and very cold. This martini is specified 'shaken frosty' rather than stirred.
Strain
Discard any ice or water from the chilled martini glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass using a fine strainer or the shaker strainer to ensure a clean, clear pour.
Finish
Garnish with the prepared skewer of 3 green olives placed into the drink or rested on the rim. Serve immediately while very cold.
