1

Prepare glass (optional)

If you prefer a salted rim, rub the lime wedge around the outer rim of a highball or Collins glass, then dip the rim into a small plate with coarse salt. Set the glass aside.

2

Add ice

Fill the prepared glass with ice to the top (about 1 cup).

3

Build and shake

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine 2 oz Javier’s Reserva Blanco Tequila, 1 oz Cointreau, and 1 oz fresh lime juice. Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled.

4

Strain into glass

Strain the shaken mixture over the ice in the prepared glass.

5

Top with soda

Gently top the drink with 2 oz (about a splash) soda water to add effervescence. Stir once gently with a bar spoon to marry the soda with the cocktail without flattening the bubbles.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with the lime wedge or wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.
