Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Prepare the black salt rim
Pour 1/2 teaspoon of the black sea salt onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the outer rim of a chilled old-fashioned or coupe glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the black salt, rolling to coat about half to three-quarters of the rim. Set the glass aside.
Build and chill
Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice (about 3/4 full). Add 2 oz Javier’s Reserva Cristalino Añejo Tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave nectar to the shaker.
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty and well-chilled — this both dilutes and chills the mix appropriately while integrating the agave.
Garnish
Finish with a light pinch (about 1/2 tsp) of black sea salt flaked over the top of the drink and a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
