Cocktail
Glass & Chill
Method
Cocktail
Chill the glass
Place the serving glass (martini or coupe) in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and a little cold water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.
Prepare olives
Thread 2–3 green olives onto a cocktail pick. Set aside a single extra olive if you prefer to add more garnish.
Measure and combine
Fill a cocktail shaker about three-quarters full with ice (approximately 1 cup). Pour in 2.5 oz Stoli Elite vodka and 0.25 oz dry vermouth.
Shake until frosty
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and frosty. Shaking quickly chills and dilutes the vodka slightly for a bright, cold martini.
Prepare the glass
If you chilled the glass with ice and water, dump out the ice and water and quickly dry the rim with a napkin so the cocktail doesn't water down.
Strain and garnish
Using a fine strainer or the shaker's built-in strainer, strain the cocktail into the chilled martini or coupe glass. Garnish by placing the skewer of 3 green olives across the rim or dropped into the drink.
Cleanup
Discard used ice and rinsed water. Rinse the shaker and pick, and return the serving glass to storage. Enjoy immediately.
