Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare jalapeño

Muddle 1 jalapeño slice in the bottom of a cocktail shaker to release oils and a touch of heat. If you prefer milder heat, remove seeds before muddling; for more heat, muddle 2 slices.

2

Build the cocktail

Add 2 oz Javier’s Reserva Reposado Tequila, 0.5 oz St. Germain, 0.5 oz agave nectar, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz fresh orange juice, and a handful of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and well-chilled.

4

Strain

Double-strain the mixture into a rocks glass (or margarita glass) filled with fresh ice to remove jalapeño bits and ice shards. For more jalapeño presence, single-strain into the glass with a jalapeño slice already added.

Garnish & Serve

5

Rim the glass (optional): run the lime wedge around the rim and dip into coarse salt or Tajín to coat. Pour the cocktail into the prepared glass.

6

Garnish: Float or skewer the remaining jalapeño slice and add the orange twist if using. Serve immediately.
