Method
Granita Preparation
Infuse Hibiscus
In a medium saucepan, combine the dried hibiscus flowers and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep for an additional 10 minutes.
Strain the Liquid
Once the hibiscus has steeped, strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to remove the flowers. You should have about 2.5 cups of hibiscus tea.
Blend Ingredients
In a blender, combine the strained hibiscus tea, fresh raspberries, granulated sugar, lime juice, and red chili flakes. Blend until smooth.
Freeze the Mixture
Pour the blended mixture into a shallow dish and spread it out evenly. Place the dish in the freezer and let it freeze for about 1-2 hours, or until the edges begin to harden.
Serving
Serve the Granita
Once the granita is fully frozen, scoop it into serving bowls or glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and extra raspberries if desired.
Enjoy!
Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing and spicy hibiscus & raspberry granita!
