Method
Prepare Glass
Salt the rim
Rub a lime wedge around the outer rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass. Pour the kosher or flaky sea salt onto a small plate and gently dip the wet rim into the salt to coat. Set glass aside.
Make Cocktail
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add the sake, tequila blanco, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup.
Add ice
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) to properly chill and dilute the drink.
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds, until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty and well chilled.
Strain
Double-strain the mixture (using the shaker strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared salted-rim glass over fresh ice if serving on the rocks, or neat into the chilled glass if you prefer a coupe presentation.
Garnish & Serve
Express a lime peel over the top of the cocktail to release oils, then rub the peel around the rim for extra aroma if desired. Garnish with the lime wheel or wedge on the rim, and sprinkle a light pinch of lime zest on top if using. Serve immediately.
