1

Prepare glass

Fill a highball glass or Collins glass with ice to chill while you assemble the drink.

2

Mix juices

In a cocktail shaker (or a large mixing glass) add the orange juice (3 oz) and pineapple juice (2 oz). Do not add soda yet.

3

Shake

Add a handful of ice to the shaker, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the juices.

4

Strain into glass

Discard the ice from the chilled serving glass, then fill the glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice. Strain the shaken juice mixture into the glass over the fresh ice.

5

Add soda

Top the juice mixture with 7-Up (2 oz). Pour slowly to preserve carbonation and create slight layering.

6

Create the rainbow effect

Carefully pour the grenadine (0.5 oz) slowly down the inside edge of the glass or over the back of a spoon so it sinks to the bottom and creates a red-to-orange layered effect.

7

Garnish and serve

Finish with an orange slice or pineapple wedge on the rim and an optional maraschino cherry. Serve with a straw and encourage the guest to stir before drinking if they want a uniform flavor.
