Unfiltered Hefeweizen in American wheat style this beer is light in body and very refreshing. Ready to quench even the most powerful thirst.

In a large mash tun, heat 3 gallons of water to 165°F (74°C). Add the pale wheat malt and pilsner malt, stirring to avoid clumps. Maintain the temperature at 152°F (67°C) for 60 minutes.

Mashing

After mashing, sparge the grains with 3 gallons of water heated to 170°F (77°C). Collect the runoff in your brew kettle.

Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add the Hallertau hops. Boil for 60 minutes. If using, add the Whirlfloc tablet with 15 minutes remaining in the boil.

Boiling

After the boil, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).

Cooling

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter. Pitch the yeast by sprinkling it on top of the wort. Seal the fermenter with an airlock and let it ferment for 1-2 weeks at around 68°F (20°C).

Fermentation

Once fermentation is complete, prepare a sugar solution by dissolving the corn sugar in 2 cups of boiling water. Add this to the bottling bucket. Transfer the beer to the bottling bucket, mix gently, and bottle with caps.

Bottling

Let the bottles condition for 1-2 weeks at room temperature, then refrigerate before serving. Enjoy your refreshing Miners Gold Hefeweizen!
